My wife and I rent a small (750 sq ft) two bedroom home in Denver.

Electricity/gas is combined. Gas water heater, gas furnace, gas stove.

Summer energy bill is around $50.
Winter energy bill is around $80.

Winter water bill is around $30.
Summer water bill is around $60 because we have a lawn to water.

Hmmm.. Average Xcel for us in Centennial is $115/mo. Denver Water bill, $15-20.

FYI- I am from Cali, too.. it is a lot cheaper here for these utilities!

My most recent Xcel bill for gas and electric was $38 for a 1,800 square foot house. But now with temps at or near 100 I'm guessing those days are over and I expect my next bill to be at least twice the amount of last month's bill.
