Why have you started a new thread on the same subject as your other thread that you started on Saturday? Have you read through the responses to that thread?

This is very good example of why I get very frustrated. I provide good information on a post. I have excellent knowledge about the subject. I spend time to give good web links. What happens? Nothing! The OP does not even bother to read or respond to his thread and even creates another thread on the same subject.

Perhaps someone else will find the information that I posted helpful for themselves or others. Those benefits to an unknown reader does help make me feel that my post has been useful. Yet my effort will eventually be exhausted if it is not fueled by appreciation and acknowledgment.

I despise these hit-and-run posters.
Why don't they just announce up front that they will not be responsive and save us all a bunch of time.

Your post helps a lot of other posters besides the OP. You can't control what a new poster does, so don't sweat it if they don't respond in kind to your posts. Don't become exhausted! Be content!

How about Wheat Ridge?

-- Lutheran Hospital is there
-- Single family homes are a bit older, but reasonably priced
-- Walkable
-- Highest per capita senior citizen rate in CO
-- Good rec center
-- 15 minute walk or one bus to get downtown

That'd be my rec to the OP, anyway.

I do agree as I think this is best located suburban hospital. I am very familiar with this hospital and have used it often. It sits on the a treed campus.Lutheran Medical Center || 303.425.4500 It has the first separate facility built specifically for hospice care, Collier, which was a great comfort in our family's loss. It has many medical offices for primary care and specialist right next to the hospital. The hospital has just finished a major expansion of the facilities.

You are correct in pointing out that it has more seniors than other cities; consequently, it has many services available, as you have said with a good senior center. Wheat Ridge also has the largest facility of its kind in the West, The Senior Resource Center just north of 32nd.; it was expanded last year to a modern new addition. http://www.srcaging.org/ with expansive services http://www.srcaging.org/services. It also provides the largest senior transport service in this area http://www.srcaging.org/index.php?s=18674 other than the RTD public transit Access-a-Ride.

There are extensive parks nearby along the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt along Clear Creek. There is good senior only housing near the hospital and some walkable shopping nearby with Safeway at 38th and Wadsworth and an Italian Market, Vinnola's http://www.vinnolasitalianmarket.com/--Wheat with a great Italian Bakery down the road http://sicilianbakeryco.com/--Wheat Ridge is home to a large Italian ethnic population.

Public transit is good with the the 38th bus to Downtown and the 76 bus down Wadsworth which will connect to a new rail station near Colfax (15th). The homes in Wheat Ridge are some of the best values in homes, especially one floor ranches which are ideal for seniors.

It is also down the road from many long term residents consider as a fantastic place to live--Applewood. Applewood is where Wheat Ridge, Lakewood, and Golden come together, centered on Youngfield.

Thanks for the contribution,

Smile moving to denver with pets

hi all
we currently live in norman ok on an acreage neighborhood and have two dogs, a cat no kids and my mother lives with us. we are of retirement age so commute is not an issue, nor are schools, although hospital nearby is a must as two of us are between 75-83 yrs of age.
we are wanting to relocate to denver suburb that would be user friendly for our family makeup.
we want to be in a community that is close to denver. preferably on the light rail line. home that is new construction with a finished basement walkout. one story a plus. small yard for our pets.
close to cafes, shops would be great. parks etc. we love modern homes style like art deco or even atomic age.

any suggestions for neighborhoods would be appreciated. we r planning another trip to co in a few weeks so we need to know where to look and where to skip.

ps budget is up to 400k.

thanks!!!!

This is the third thread you've started on the same subject. You got some excellent responses to your previous threads, but you never came back and acknowledged them nor continued the discussion. We figured that you were like so many other posters who get their answers and disappear.

I suggest that you go back to the last thread you started and respond to the input. That will keep the conversation going. I'm certainly not going to repost the answer I already gave you.

That list is just weird. Pittsburgh and Washington DC? Never heard those suggested as top places to retire before.
