I was wondering the culture in Denver is more like say Chicago where I am from or like west coast where I live now? If the people say pop instead of soda then I like it because that is similar to Chicago.

It's not even remotely like either one of those places. And they call them "drinks" here.

Chicago is the city of "broad shoulders" because the population is known to be pushy and has a history of being a gritty, industrial, and gang-infested pasttime. It couldn't be any more opposite in Denver than Chicago. Nobody here pushes anybody around or intimidates. And as far as California... what culture?

Not known to be pushy or intimidate, Denver is where there have been two mass killings in the last 20 years thats rough. At least Chicago all the killings happen in one area and you know to stay away from there. Chicago has the better sports teams and way better food.

When I lived in SoCal I thought I was living in an alternative universe. Anywhere that doesn't have winter, the people grow up with distorted lives. Sorry if I'm offending those who think 70 is "cold" and 80 is "hot".

At least Chicago has winters and really worse winters than we do here in Denver. Never been to Chicago.

I can't speak for pop vs soda. I grew up in the midwest (real midwest) lived in Chicago, last three years in the north east.

I've visited california a lot

I find it a eclectic mix of Midwest and California styles. Maybe 60% MidWest 40% california?

Seriously? Denver is closer to space so you might get hit by an asteroid

I suppose mass shootings like the Brown's Chicken Massacre, Haymarket affair, herrin massacre, no Illinois university massacre, saint valentines day massacre, st vrain massacre don't count?

Its "pop" as it is called in most of the Mid-West and Rocky Mountains. However with the large influx of Californians you could expect to hear "soda" a lot too.

I just said that because the other guy said all of Chicago is gang-related which is not true and making a point to **** him off

Well being from OC, CA now living in Denver Metro last 8 years I would say mix of CA, TX, and midwest folks with a sprinkling of East Coasters. Most of us transplants come from CA or TX. Some naitives hate us Cali folks because they assume we are liberal and run around naked, and some hate Texans because of their bigger than head attitude, and how their state is better, but I had to relocate for XYZ Oil and Gas company.

When I moved here my sales manager said do not offer that your are from Southern CA. I turned it into a joke and told people yes I am from CA and I am not here to overthrow your school system or run for office. That actually struck home with them and made them laugh.
