We are moving to Aurora. Is there a welcome wagon or can anyone tell me what utilities to use there? Thank you for any help

Your Realtor can tell you what utilities service the area. Be careful with using BBB issues warning for Change-My-Address.com | KDVR.com.

USPS, Gas/Electric/Cable TV/Internet/Phone or not. Water will be transferred at closing by the title company.

I have a pdf I email to my clients a week before closing regarding utilities.

Default Welcome

Gas/Electric - you have no choice. You get the monopoly that services your house.

Water - welcome to the West where water is for fighting over. See //www.city-data.com/forum/color...out-water.html for a good education.

Cable/Internet/Phone - Duopoly. Comcast or Century Link (formerly Mountain Bell).

Xcel is most likely the electric/gas provider.
City of Aurora for water.
Waste pick-up is the one that I find most unusual - there is no city-wide waste service, it is provided by private contractors. Your HOA may have a designated company, it is often Waste Management.

Comcast is the broadband provider for internet, phone, cable. Other options are CenturyLink, Dish or DirecTV.
Some of the companies offer bundled services/welcome offers for new customers, including Xcel so you can get lots done with just one phone call.
