WHAT????
I guess one only has to know......don't climb on rocks/cliffs,..unless you are a tester for rock climbing equipment. If it fails,..othw!! And, yes, I dated someone who did just this!!
Don't climb on Red Rocks/ Garden of the Gods unless, you are certified to do so!!!!
Is that what this post is about???
Just asking, NOT trying to be difficult!!
BTW, I will never ever jump off of a cliff..for any reason..no matter how safe. My feet would do the skid thing before the edge!!YEP!!!

If this is not your point, I apologize and bow out!

How about don't climb unless you know what your doing or with someone who knows what they are doing. Climbing rocks is a lot safer than driving on 25. If that is true about the mountain parks then whats the point of calling them parks. how about Denver mountains NO TRESSPASSING

I rock climb almost every weekend, have been for about 8 years now. I think certain parks (like Eldorado Canyon) will be seriously hurt with the lost revenue if they disallow it. I can, however, understand that certain structures should not be climbed due to the wear and tear that gets put on them over time by climbers. One example is when Dean Potter (sponsored by Patagonia) climbed Delicate Arch in Utah. It's quite okay to state certain areas are off limits, but disallowing it in the entire park (or park system) is just nonsense.

They pass that I'm going to petition to disallow vehicals from going into parks. Cars force trees to be cut down, land to be unnaturally graded flat, asphalt to be put down, chemical paints sprayed on the ground, "rest stops" to be built requiring more destruction of land... not to mention the fact that from then on you'll have carbon emissions from the cars, garbage thrown out the windows (not just cigarettes, but also McDonald's cups and bags).

So which is worse? Climbers or tourists? Designate an area as a park to "preserve" it and then build roads and structures all through it and promote MORE people to come to it. Somehow this sounds backwards to me, but my degree is in computer science and not ecology, so I must not know anything.
