Single female, early 30s considering moving to Denver by way of DC in the fall. Planning a solo trip to check out the area. Will be visiting mid week for 3 nights. Any suggestions on where to go/what to see to get a "feel for the area"? Any bar/restaurant suggestions? (looking for a mix between casual/relaxed and upscale). Thanks so much!

Tons of great restaurants downtown. I would check out neighborhoods as well. What's your housing budget look like? Do you want to live urban or suburban?

I am in your same age group and also have been contemplating a potential move if my career allows. In my previous visits, I have tried to get a good feel for the area.

I would recommend taking the light rail around. Also, renting a B-Cycle and checking out the Cherry Creek bike trail, if you're the biking type.

Have breakfast at Snooze. On a weekday because weekends are crazy.

The neighborhood around Coors Field has a lot of bars and restaurants that 20 -30 somethings frequent. I can't think of specific bars so much, except for maybe Wynkoop Brewery? Look at Yelp to see what is popular, the ppl who post tend to be 20-30 somethings. Also, around Coors Field are apartments/lofts where young professional types live, so check out that general area.

Check out Westword to find out where bands are playing.

I would definitely leave DC for Denver if I had the opportunity. I am also on the East Coast, and Denver has beckoned me for a while now.
