Just curious if it's already happening ? Can an out of towner now come to Denver and walk into a marijuana club and smoke ? Readily available ?

Is it worth a trip or not that big of a deal ?

Thanks

January 1st you can buy. Public consumption is not legal. There are no clubs, just retail stores. You cannot consume on premises.

I don't touch the stuff, but my two cents is that MJ is so readily available in every community that it seems a waste of time and money to come here for that. I'd suggest you wait six months (to warmer weather, it's ZERO here now, or below) to see how things are shaking out with this new venture. If it works well and a good reputation develops then it may be worth a visit.

I would not expect Amsterdam-style cafes to happen anytime soon. Also, you can't smoke cigarettes in a bar, so naturally you can't smoke pot either. You will be able to buy it in retail stores, but can't walk out into the street and light it up. You'd have to take it back to your hotel room and be subject to whatever rules they have.

Bottom line is: come here for a variety of recreational and tourism things, and then buy pot as an added bonus. But don't come here just to buy pot. And don't even THINK about taking it back east through Nebraska in your car!

While you can't smoke it in public, you can ingest it (cookies) in public.

There also also several portable vaporizer that are probably OK. I'm pretty sure you can vaporize tobacco in places that you can't smoke, so maybe it's the same with pot. Vaporizing isn't technically smoking. Besides, vaporizing can be so discrete that no one would know anyway - virtually no smell and no smoke.

And as RD said, please don't try to smuggle home any left overs.

All these out of state pot tourists are going to help the economy and the taxes will help the schools.

Default Smoking Pot in Colorado.

Ever since marijuana become legal for recreational use in Colorado i've been wanting to take a visit and experience it actually being legal. I am a 22 year old college guy but quite responsible. I would be visiting from Atlanta. What I wanted to know was where could I find a legal place to smoke it while im there? I know you cant smoke in public and I dont know anybody in colorado whose place i could smoke at. What can I do? Planning to go for a weekend.
