I will be relocating to the Denver area in about 5 weeks. I will be working in Fort Collins for a few months. My position is with a general contractor working onsite as a field engineer, so after finishing up in Fort Collins I could be on another jobsite anywhere in the Denver metro area. I am wanting to live somewhere north, Westminster, Thornton, or Broomfield. How bad would this commute be? From what I have read it seems that all the traffic comes into Denver from Fort Collins. I know the commute would be roughly 55 miles.

You're talking easily an hour, and if that stretch has bad weather, it could be even longer or closed down.

That's a lonnng commute. One hour on a nice day assuming you're close to I-25 on the Denver side and not too far into Ft Collins. Could be 2-3 hours during a bad snow day

You can do it, but I wouldn't want to do it for long.

Three months isn't very long. You will be bored, but it's temporary. I'd be more concerned about where the next 20 jobs will be.
