This has nothing to do with correcting mistakes. The 1980s brought Denver the 16th Street Mall.

This has to do with maximizing developer's profits. Thats all that counts these days. The developers have to be able to be able to develop every square inch of their property. You can't expect the poor billionaires to include public space in their developments. That will cut into their profits.
OF COURSE they're using every square inch of property. It's a skyscraper in down-freakin'-town! Gawd, I swear you post this crap just to be difficult.

There's a mile long pedestrian mall a block away. But whatever. You hate Denver and don't live here and OBVIOUSLY have no clue about urban development. It's a nice looking building that will contribute to the "urban canyons" of downtown, and a decent addition to the skyline.

Seems like he has an agenda to follow when it comes to Denver. His propaganda campaign is about to start.

Can't wait to see this building go up.

It'll be nice to see a building that isn't so "blocky". It's amazing how much construction is going on downtown. It's like they've built an entirely new neiborhood over by Union Station.

There's a 25 story apartment tower that's supposed to go up at 18th and Broadway, and a 34 story (I believe) apartment tower somewhere over by Confluence Park. And many mid rise projects.

Actually I think you can say that about the entire Metro area. It all pretty much stopped in 2008 with the financial woes but some time around 2010 or 2011 things started to boom again. There is so much construction now it amazes me. To me it is sign of good things to come. Our city is thriving financially right now and seeing the construction proves that. I drive through Lone Tree pretty much every day on the way to work. I can't believe how much stuff is popping up over there.

Both of these are exciting to see. That one Mezter just pictured looks like it'll be pretty nice too. Denver is one of the more explosive towns right now. It's impossible to say how long this boom cycle will last, but hopefully long enough to get most of these projects done.

Maybe they can finally erect the famed and elusive Tabor 2 while they're at it!

Haven't they been trying to build that one for 20 years? lol! I know the base is already built, so it seems like it would be a no-brainer.

Try 30 years. The foundation was completed in 1984.

That Tabor 2 proposal has the absolute worst luck of anything in Denver. It's been on and off since the 80's, but every single time they announce a new plan for Tabor 2 a recession happens shortly after. A few months ago they were doing some permitting with the city having to do with a new design that overhangs the sidewalk. I am getting ready for the day they officially announce it so I can sell off all of my equities and put my cash under the pillow.
