Oh, I can join. Tables in Park Hill. Not cheap but definitely tasty. As far as high end restaurants go though my favorite in Denver has always been the Squeaky Bean downtown.

Two recent good dining experiences:

Iron Rail Tavern in Wheat Ridge. Ate there with a friend late last year. The steaks were perfectly done, juicy and tender. The sides were wonderful - in particular, the brussell sprouts were delicious. Also, we had gouda-filled homemade "tater tots" as our starter - quite awesome.

The mixed drink I ordered was nice and strong too. I also have to comment on the service - our waiter was attentive and well-informed about the menu, and made excellent suggestions.

I have to say, it was really just the vibe I was looking for here. I've commented before how most of the places around here tend towards divey or over-the-top trendy, with chains in the middle of that spectrum. This was just the kind of low-key, classy but casual atmosphere I was looking for. This is where an average person would go for a nice dinner out without screaming children all over the place or fans yelling at a game on the TV. It's well-executed food, a lot of it comfort food with an interesting twist to take it up a notch.

Also, Right Coast Pizza serves some amazing New Jersey-style pizza. And all my friends who aren't from Jersey have LOVED it. Thin crust with good toppings and sauce. The garlic knots area also tasty. Can't wait to "dine in" at the actual restaurant.

I enjoy the pizza there quite a bit, actually. It's very "colorado" in its style, with a thicker crust than I'm used to. But the ingredients are high quality and the overall result is pretty darn delicious. As far as sides go, I like the fried ravioli there.

Service is unfailingly friendly.

I like the "local" atmosphere too.

Biju's Little Curry Shop at 26th and Blake in RiNo. Excellent home style Indian food. You walk up to the counter and they put together a bowl of your choice of beef, chicken, or veggie curry. Mine came with rice, lentils, coconut chicken curry, and cabbage slaw. You customize with yogurt and a bunch of different chutneys, so it can be seriously hot. They even have one with ghost pepper.

Counter help are superfriendly.

Pretty decent beer selection, they also have cane sugar sodas, mango lassi, and chai.

Bayou Bob's, 17th & Glenarm. It was pretty darn good cajun food. not quite as good as Pappadeaux (spelling?) but at half the price, I'm not complaining. Their appetizer of stuffed shrimp was flippin' delicous. jumbo shrimp stuffed with crawfish meat and wrapped in bacon. Good lord.

The lunch combo of jumbalaya, cup of shrimp gumbo, shrimp etoufee was pretty darn good. Service wasn't great, we waited quite a while to have our orders taken, our food to arrive, our check to come, and have our checks returned.

I ate at my company's cafeteria this morning and I don't recommend it. It just gets worse day by day.

LOL.

My wife's building (1999 Broadway) has a pretty good cafeteria on the 2nd floor. We eat there at least once a week. Decent, cheap, and quick. any folks in northeast downtown (California, Stout) should check it out

Also a good place at 18th & Stout called Wallstreet, located inside the main floor. quite the variety there. burgers, chinese food, wraps, spuds (giant loaded potatoes), salads, etc. gotta get there before 10:30 or after 1:00 though, that place gets packed.

The cafeteria is run by Sodexo, enough said.

I don't think I remembered to post that I ate at True Food Kitchen in Cherry Creek a few weeks ago. Really good! Table service although a bit of a cafeteria vibe so not a fine dining experience, but really good food and a great option if you need a veg/vegan friendly place to go. They do serve some meat, but far more veg choices than average.
