The nine best places for Texans to eat in Denver | Westword

I thought it was funny. And I love me some Griff's!

I think their food stinks so I go for the cold beer and nice view.

My favorite casual Mexican place is Yolanda's on E. Arapahoe Rd. Pretty basic decor, but the food is outstanding! Very popular place for the DTC lunch crowd. Go early or late if you want one of the three booths.

DING! That place is the best. I love their tacos. They definitely know what they are doing in the kitchen.

She is right about only three booths but there are several small bar height tables too.

Did you ever meet Bob, the founder? He passed away several years ago, but his wife still holds down the fort at the restaurant in CR. She's a gem.

I didn't have a chance to meet him. I have never had a bad meal there. They also have a location in Castle Rock.

Yep. I've loved everything I've ever eaten there, and the staff is great. There are three Yolanda's now. Another one just opened on Colorado Blvd.

Cuba Cuba on 12th avenue and Delaware. It's a cute little establishment, looks like a house.

Great food! I had a Cubano sandwich, which is all I ever order at Cuban restaurants so that I can properly compare them (and because they're delicious), my dining pals ordered more substantial meals. None of us had any complaints about our dinners or desserts.

Also, their happy hour is awesome. Half-priced mojitos!

Beirut Grill in Englewood. We eat here often and the food is very good. Hot, homemade pita bread fresh out of the oven, delicious hummus, spinach pie, yum. My personal favorite is the Vegetarian combo. The atmosphere is a little odd being in a strip mall with a very large yet often empty dining room. It's clean and the service is always friendly.
