Depends on work, honestly.

I chose Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Lakewood, Westminster (if working at or near Downtown)

Thornton, Northglenn were chosen as well, but only IF you don't have an aversion to public transit or toll roads. I take the bus from 88th Avenue park and ride to downtown every day, it literally gets me down there in 10 minutes if the weather is halfway decent. Schools can be iffy in this area, but in your price range, you should be OK.

If you work south, Englewood or Highlands Ranch will have what you're looking for.

Federal Heights has over 90% trailer parks and apartments. It is not a nice part of town.

You also left out Centennial, which can be very expensive, but seems to match a lot of what you want.

I wish I had thought a bit further about the cities I listed. It seems I left some out that I had been considering as well as put some in the list that I undoubtedly will rule out. Unless I find a way to revise the poll, I may create a follow up post with a narrowed down list of the top 5 cities and then dig a bit deeper into neighborhoods within each city.

Thanks for the info!

I can revise your poll, send me the names to add or delete or post them here.

Centennial fits your requirements. Since it wasn't there I picked Highlands Ranch, which, like Centennial, has a lot of price points. Many are in your price range. Centennial is also close to the Denver Tech Center for jobs. Happy hunting!

I am not a fan of Douglas County Schools. They are good, but they underperform for their demographic. Plus they are on a downward slide that will get worse in the years to come.

I would stay away from Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, and Parker because of this.

You need to have Centennial on your list. If you are looking for job opportunities and you don't want the City of Denver, then anywhere near Denver Tech Center is going to be ideal. That would make places like Littleton, Centennial, Greenwood Village (if you could afford), southeast Aurora, Lone Tree (you can't afford), and Highlands Ranch your best bets. There are even parts of Englewood that might suit your needs. If planning on having kids soon then I'd recommend anywhere within Littleton or Cherry Creek school districts.

Agree with the others on Centennial. Also Greenwood Village, although price will be tough.

On a side note, I was in Minneapolis on Monday in the Linden Hills neighborhood. Cool spot (although the heat and humidity were unbearable!). The neighborhood reminded me of Wash Park in Denver except siding homes instead of brick.

These would be my top 2 recommendations:

Centennial (Tech Center companies close; Cherry Creek school district)
Broomfield (lots of companies moving in there too)

But we just moved here ourselves (to Centennial; work is in Tech Center—I can ride my bike to work!), so these are based on our research (online and on the ground) over the past several months.
