Does anyone remember White Sands lake off of Colorado Blvd and about Virginia. I remember going there in the late 60's

Red face White sands

i remember white sands lake in Denver. We used to swim there. Do you know how it was created and what happened to it? I would enjoy hearing from anyone who remembers this place!

I remember it!! I lived in DCH in the late 60s and we would be able to go there sometimes.

Here is a history of Virginia Village. Doesn't really tell much about White Sands, but it has a picture.

I went there too as a kid, and have many fond memories. It is on the corner of Mississippi and Dahlia. In the 70s the land was bought by developers and they built a huge apartment complex around it. Now called Espirit Cherry Creek, but I think it use to be called the Presidio. The lake still remains, and is in the middle of the complex.
