Am looking for a safe, family-friendly gated community in the Cherry Creek school district. Anyone know anything about Shenandoah on Smoky Hill?

gated? There are not many gated communities around here.

Please describe a suburb that would not be family friendly.

Shenandoah is a gated community of sorts. There's only one entrance to the subdivision of Smoky Hill Rd, which, while not barred shut by a gate, is guarded 24/7. (Although someone who really wanted to break in could probably find a way anyway). If you live there, you have to call up the guard and give them you're friends' names and addresses every time they want to visit you. I know several people who live there, and can vouch that it is definitely a nice neighborhood. Older, but well kept, custom/ semi-custom homes, mature trees, etc. The only complaint I have with it is their community pool-- it's dinky and bath-tub sized.

If you're looking for nice subdivisions in that part of town, I'd also suggest Piney Creek-- another good one that has stood the test of time. And then if you want to go out even further along Smoky Hill Rd, there are dozens of nice subdivisions, all within CC school district.
