Anybody out there going to the home opener today? Hopefully we have a decent season this year, but I don't have high hopes. I do hope to get to more games this year. Last year I made it to 1. It was a sad performance on my part.

I saw this on the 9news website today. Here are some fun facts about Coors Field.

I wish, but no. I always wait too long to get tickets and by the time I think about it the prices are ridiculous. Right now on StubHub, Rockpile tickets are going for $125 apiece. No thanks.

Ha. That's just nuts. In a week, those tickets will be 6 bucks.

Even sooner than that. There are still plenty of tickets for tomorrow's and Sunday's games available and they're going for regular price.

I think the Rockies have what it takes to contend this year. A division title is probably a long-shot given how the Dodgers and Giants own the NL West, but as I said in the baseball forum 85-90 wins is a realistic target.

Saturday's matchup will be Jon Gray against Clayton Kershaw. Should make for an interesting game (and tickets will be cheaper as you mentioned).

I concur that the Rockies will be better this year. My prediction is they will contend for one of the NL Wild Card slots and have mid to upper 80's in wins. Time will tell....

I will be there!

Bullpen is looking good so far, I think 80-83 wins is about right with Bettis out. If they can swing a trade for another starter around the trade deadline they will have a chance to contend for a wild card. It should be a nice change to see meaningful baseball this summer.

It was a tradition for me up until about three years ago. I think the Rockies are going to compete for a wild card spot. Bud Black is a great manager especially when it comes to a pitching staff. He didn't have the offense in San Diego that he has here.

I didn't go to the game but I hung around the bars with coworkers while it was going on. It was crazy full of people and quite a bit of fun! I did get claustrophobic and hungry towards the end though, so I headed out.

I went after work to a bar in downtown and came within striking distance of almost getting puked on at 5pm (eek.)

That is not hard to do in LoDo especially for warm afternoon games. It gets crazy down there.

Rockies are playing pretty good ball to start the season. The did lose 2 of 3 to the Padres but they beat the Giants last night in San Francisco.
