Denver reminds me of a midwest town mainly because of its locally planted vegetation and its architecture. As I was driving around south Aurora today, all the homes had the same midwest-looking horizonal siding. Ash, silver maple, linden, spruce and other midwest-common trees abound. Nothing wrong with that--just saying...

Th Denver Performing Arts Complex is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States. Minnesota also has theaters, but hard to give it any edge here.

Live music? Red Rocks and a very vibrant small venue scene. Hard to top almost anywhere in the country.
MSP has DEN beat on that one - Prince and the Replacements alone kill anything Denver has brought to the table.

Yeah. Didn't say best local musician ever. If that's the contest, Prince might win everything.

I dunno. Prince is very good, no doubt, but we've had some pretty decent musicians come out of Denver. Judy Collins, Phillip Bailey, Tommy Bolin to name a few.

Live music I would hope is still decent. Maybe not as prolific as MSP, can't say, I've never lived in MSP, but I can recall in the 80s when I'd go to Denver regularly, there were bands and live venues all across town. We've also had a nearly endless list of who's who in classic rock come through, stay, and sometimes play in Denver while recording at Caribou Ranch throughout the '70s.

Live music in Denver has become one of the better scenes in the country.

South Aurora is not Denver. I drive through Denver every morning and see brick houses, stone, stucco and many other building materials. Denver is not defined by the narrow confines of the suburbs you are familiar with.
