I live in Berkeley and really like it.

1. My neighbor takes the 38th Ave bus every morning to work downtown (20 minutes) and walks the 4 miles home. He says the exercise is good and it helps clear his mind.

2. This place is new https://www.renttennysonplace.com . It is in the heart of Berkeley.

3. This place is on 38th Ave in West Highland https://www.renthighlandplace.com .

Denver is not that large. There are pockets of this and that but likely no one area is self sufficient. The area; 9th & Logan is quiet

I used to live on 8th and Logan and in the summer I rode my bike to work or walked one block and caught the bus , I loved it . Living right across the street from the Governor was cool . This one time he waved to me.

Must have been Owens or Ritter since Hickenlooper hasn’t lived there.

It think it was Ritter but I remember reading this in 2006 :

After a hard day of work, Gov. John Hickenlooper and his staff don't need to go far to grab a cold one. Before leading the state's Democratic Party, Hickenlooper was one of the pioneers of the state's craft beer industry, founding the Wynkoop Brewing Co. in the late 1980s before IPAs were, well, everywhere. So it's not surprising that he had the Colorado Brewers Guild and the Governor's Preservation Fund finance and install a three-tap draft beer system in the mansion. There's a regular rotation of brews from all across the state. Best of all: No tipping is allowed—and no last calls.
must be a cool place to work....

looks like that's from a 2016 article, not a 2006 one.
