I'm heartbroken. I was so looking forward to the hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars of wasteful, completely unnecessary spending that hosting the games would've brought to the region.

I don't recall hearing anyone advocate for the Olympics outside of the media. SLC can have it.

There won't be a 2030 winter games. Not in the central US, anyway.

I had no idea Denver was even bidding for it - that sucks. They definitely deserve to host it as they definitely have more than enough venues to cover the events. SLC already had it in 2002 why do they need it again?

Honestly , Denver will never get any Olympic bid. As the only city in the history of the games to get the games and then back out after several years into the process only to leave the Olympic Committees scrambling for a replacement, I don't doubt that they keep that in mind every time a new generation of Coloradans think we should go after the games.

Congratulations Denver! You dodged a huge boondoggle expertly designed to extract maximum cash from you under the guise of making you a wealthier city.
