I'm here in Denver now and there are couple areas that like:
Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree.

the commute is not that crazy and they are really nice; I look at some properties I believe they were in Lone Tree or Parker. I get them confused but the prices for the Homes were 450,000 not too crazy compared to Austin, and for rentals, I think we found a place in Lone Tree that was nice.

We lived in Austin from 2002-2009, plus I punked rocked there throughout the 80s. Last time I was there, I hardly recognized the place. When El Gallo and the Horseshoe Lounge closed, that was a sad day for me.

Wish you and your family luck and hope you enjoy all that Colorado has to offer. It can get a bit cold at times, but you will appreciate the lower humidity and pleasant temps in the summer.

Hey There, you already got some good advice from this thread and it looks like you may have come out and explored a little. Family friendly wise (thinking about your wife being a stay at home mom, I have been there), I would be looking at Parker. There are a lot of young families that have moved to the Parker area over the last few years. It is a growing area but has a great Recreational Center, plenty of parks, cute downtown area and family-friendly events that your wife could take advantage of with your little one. Moving to a new city can be quite isolating for a stay at home mom so finding a place where she can get out and meet people will be very important
