If you are debt free and making 60K then you can probably do OK in Denver or one of its suburbs. If you have car payments, student loan payments, credit card payments, or any other debt you're paying off, then 60K won't go that far if you're chipping away at your income every month for old debt. Edit: Re read your submission stating you're debt free. Good for you. You can make it in Denver. You won't be the richest person on the block, but you can do it. Good Luck.

Here's a Zillow list of rentals at $1,200 or less. Lots of choices. Some are in very nice areas. I'd suggest to find one very near your work so you have little to no commute (nice to be in walking/biking distance).

(You'll need to EXPECT to do this wherever you live)

DIG IN at the job you have there and DIG IN with the study for certs.
GET the certs... THEN look around for what opportunities are around.

I do have a roommate.

I appreciate all the advice. I have to aggree most with MrRational. I'm putting the move on pause. Thinking Q1 2024 instead. Or maybe this fall, but a full year lines up better with my lease and gives me more time to get more then just the CCNA.

Same thing I said back in post #5.

Not a bad idea. You’re also young. Look into a side hustle.

$55k in NC is way better than $60k in Denver.

If you make $55k now, you'd need to make at least $65-70k in Denver to keep the same standard of living.

Daughter just moved this summer from the Main Line in Philadelphia to Littleton. It was a voluntary move with her company. The Main Line is not a cheap place to live but she got a smaller condo with less features for more money and was able to get it after the market had started to slacken. She finds everything is more expensive . Finding a 6 month lease was a miracle in that same area before she could close on the condo. She is studying and taking a professional exam to raise her salary which is a little bit more than yours. You are getting good advice. I personally like the Triangle area of NC better than DEN but it is just my opinion , Good Luck!

A bit confused on the rationale - why not get a larger place (with a roommate?) with more features for LESS money?

Hopefully it was a typo (!)

60k is nothing in Denver. You can get 22/hour at big box stores, surely OP skills are worth more than a 30/hour rate. That might be starting salary but Id guess someone in that spot could hit the market and get 75k or more.

If you can work from home, at least part of the time look at Greeley. Much cheaper and within range for nightlife.
