Our oldest will be a freshman next year. BCHS is our neighborhood high school. We had always planned on having our kids attend but we have heard from several parents and teachers that things have gotten bad over there. We did already do the work in terms of applying to schools with more consistent reputations (both magnet and private) but we won’t know anything about her admission status until late January. Just trying to figure out if what we are hearing is true (impending overcrowding, long term interim principal, less focus on academics and more focus on damage control).

Daughter is extremely driven, academically focused. Hard worker, creative, does volunteer work, all through her school years teachers, parents, other kids tell us how kind and friendly she is. She’s an adaptable kid so even if BCHS ends up being our only option I think she as an individual will be fine, but I still worry for her safety and her college options (her heart is set on an Ivy).

Would appreciate opinions/recent experiences from other parents, staff, students at this school. Thanks!
