Are you a Youper? Many from the U.P live in the Thornton / Northglenn area.

Houses and Townhomes in the $150K range abound all over the Metro (7 county) region, so it really is a matter of just doing some homework about schools - if you have kids - social activity you enjoy, churches, open space etc..

We have an incredibly good quality of life here, but it is different than any other area of the Country. Be prepared to leave your culture and norms behind and adopt the "when in Rome" attitude. This is a high plains desert and we are running low on water. Our growing population has strained our environemnt and we are only just learning to respond to the environmental issues resulting from our rampant growth.

Key point: hire a seasoned real estate professional when you are ready to purchase. Interview to determine if this Realtor has experience in your chosen neighborhood, understands and can work with the lending guidlines set by your lendor and that your mortgage person is licensed and registered with the State. Ask what their history int he profession is and make decisions based on your specific business needs.

Colorado has the toughest Real Estate training and licensing guidlines in the nation. That being said, there are many of the 48,000 licensed Brokers who only took their license because they wanted to save 2% when they thought they could "Flip this House" Since we have so many failed entreprenuers with Real Estate Licenses, please question whether this Broker makes his / her primary living as a Broker or as an investor. Then make your decision to hire. Penel
