So I'm tired of the suburban life and need to be closer to downtown. I am looking for something in the Cap Hill/Cheeseman Park area. I don't know where to begin!?!?! I was down there today walking around and was overwhelmed. Does anyone have any suggestions? I want to find something nice, 2 bedroom, a/c, dogs ok, etc...I am open to anything really, I just dont want to be somewhere trashy...I need somewhere safe. HELP!?!

I've been looking in the same areas as well as some others. One good site I found so far is hotpads.com. That one lets you narrow down your search by price and bedrooms, etc. and at least you can see where they all are on the map. It also lets you mouse over a neighborhood name to see the borders of the neighborhood. In addition to craigslist that site is helping me window shop for ideas and price ranges before I move out to Denver next Spring. Actually, unlike Baltimore (where I'm moving from) the craigslist has not been helpful. I search for specific neighborhoods and get results all the way out into the suburbs and out of town. It's annoying.

I live in an apartment in Capital Hill, one block south of the State Capital building. I wasn't searching for AC but I didn't see much in the way of central air anywhere, there are some window units in nearby buildings but none in ours nor do I feel like I need it.

Seems like most places were very dog friendly and unlike any place I have ever lived we found a place that paid everything except electric, including wifi......were pretty happy but I don't recall seeing many 2 bedroom places around here.

I'm not going to publicly plug our real estate leasing company but if you walk around you will see a bunch of yellow signs, we're pretty happy with them.
