So I'm visiting a friend and can't decide when to go (ideally). May, June or July. I'm an outdoor person, not necessarily a snow person but I enjoy snow also. When would you say is the best time to visit?

Last two weeks of May or first two weeks of June. You can catch the Spring run off (rafting, water falls, tons of greenery in the hills and new flowers), temps are very comfortable in the city and in the mountains, and you can catch the People's Fair downtown. Avoid Memorial Day weekend as it gets crowded in the hills and in the city but the other weekends are the best. July is warmer and can get hot, but Denver is one of the cities with the best Summer weather. Low humidity, tons of sun, few bugs and much to do for an outdoorsy person. Have a great time on your visit!

Either month is fine, depending on how cool or warm you like it, but be prepared for some ferocious afternoon thunderstorms and hail whichever month you choose!

I still have yet to have a ferocious afternoon thunderstorm with any hail at all. They all seem to graze just to the north or the south of me...

You're lucky. My daughter's car was totaled in a hailstorm in 2004. She is stil driving it, lol!

It depends on what your plans are. If you plan to head to the high country for hiking you are better off waiting until later in June or July to avoid mud season.
