I am a soon-to-be University of Denver graduate student (as of Fall 2007), and I am new to the Denver area. I am looking for an apartment that will allow my miniature dachshund. I am hoping for an apartment under $1,000 monthly in a safe area in the DU area. I would be ecstatic if there would be a nearby park (and so would my dog, Rudy ). Is there any way I can get something nice with these restrictions? Any ideas on apartment complexes/condos/lofts/etc I should look into? Thanks!!

Lynne

My daughter found almost exactly what you are looking for by just driving around looking for "for rent" signs.

when I was a grad student at DU we lived in a cute little apartment community - willlows at tamarac - it is on hampden so a short drive to DU - only a few minutes, even in traffic - it was great for us and very nice staff! Depends on if you want walking distance or not but something to check

There are a lot of great parks around DU-- Observatory, Washington, Harvard Gulch.... Denver has the nation's largest parks system so that should not be a problem wherever you end up.
