My family and I are planning to move to the Brighton area this summer and I am a real estate appraiser. Does anyone know what the job market is like for my field? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the most part, appraisers are self employed, and make their own market.

Default more appraiser questions

I have a family friend in Brighton and talked to him recently about the need for real estate appraisers in that area. He painted a pretty grim picture. He said the need for appraisals has decreased drastically. I am currently swamped here in Texas with appraisals. At times it can be feast or famine though. The majority of appraisals that I do are refinance as well as new construction etc. He didn't think there would be a need for new construction. Also he mentioned that Colorado only uses one software. Do you know anything about that. I currently use Clickforms. I have my Colorado license but am leary of moving my family without job security. I don't know which lenders I will try to do business for. One of the businesses I do some work for it located nationwide but I don't know if there is a need for appraisers in the Denver area. Anyway, any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated. Oh, my wife is a school teacher as well as a registered nurse. We are thinking she will be able to find a job but it is a scary move.
