I am a 25 year old male looking to move to Denver. I currently reside in Chicago so my question is not weather or traffic related. I originally was looking to move to Florida but the cities I want to move to aren't getting a good wrap. I am looking for a nice area in Denver/Co. Springs that I can get a one bedroom apt for $700/month(if possible). Please advise me of an areas to avoid. I am open to near by suburbs as well. Also what is the nightlife like in the Denver area?

How big a one bedroom? If you don't mind them on the smaller side there's all sorts of great looking, older style apartments in the Capitol Hill area that'll fit your price range. Pretty much walking distance to all sorts of things on and around Colfax and Broadway (give or take depending on the specific street location.)

I'm under the impression that nightlife in the 'burbs is pretty dead for the most part, though I'm sure there's some gems if you don't mind some driving. Personally I like being able to walk to my nightlife =)

Nightlife is decent. There's basically two areas for nightlife. One is the downtown 16 street mall area which is cool and usually has a lot of people on weekends even during the winter. The other area are the bars and nightclubs along Colfax ave. These are also pretty happening and crowded. Then there's the art district on Santa Fe drive which has some cool restaurants and a few nightclubs.

So basically there's a pretty good selection. You ought to be pretty happy with it, even coming from Chicago.

Good luck Matty - let us know where you land. I'm leaving to move to Denver from Chicago myself. No place like Wrigleyville!

700 is possible in the metro area but can be a challenge the closer you get to downtown ( or the Denver Tech Center Area).
