Can anyone share some thoughts on this area? Can't find anything on the internet or local realtor websites. Any type of information is appreciated.

I don't live there but I've been looking at real estate there. My impression was that is was an older neighborhood in sort of a valley. The houses looked like they were built in the 50's. The roads are dirt but well maintained and it is really close to I-70 but removed from seeing or hearing the traffic. The only thing I didn't like was that it seems like it doesn't get much sun. There was a mixture of nice houses and rundown ones too but they seemed to have pretty big lots so you don't necessarily have to see your neighbors.

Mostly older homes, some scrapes many with updates. Lots of various sizes. Generally a nice out of the way place to live. Not an easy commute to Denver or Golden though.

I'm looking for advise such as reputation of subdivision, resale potential, resale issues, etc. We are looking in Hidden Valley and I'm having trouble finding information. The homes are older and I like the fact that they are tucked away in a valley....very peaceful and serene. What would some negatives be for buying a home in Hidden Valley?

Probably your best resource to get info on Hidden Valley is a good realtor in the Evergreen area. I can give you a name of the agent I worked with in Evergreen when I bought. She is ethical, knowledgeable, hardworking and not pushy.

We use to live/own in Conifer, but moved due to transfers a few years ago. Last year we started looking for another home in the Evergreen area in anticipation of moving back. We looked at Hidden Valley, Hiwan Hills, and other Evergreen mountain homes.

My impression of Hidden Valley were mostly nice older homes, but properties can be in a steep valley that may not get much sun in the winter. As in many communities in the Evergreen, Morrison, Conifer areas, there tends to be a broad spectrum of demographics throughout. It is not uncommon to have a well cared-for $700k+ home next door to a $250k home with junk scattered on the property. Nothing wrong with someone keeping a junkyard on their own property, but spend some time touring the area to get a feel for the particular area you are interested in.

Depending on your budget, Hiwan Hills is a little North of Hidden Valley on Hwy 74 and the topography is more open and also older 70s-80s homes.

We eventually bought in Genesee, just east of Evergreen in Golden, for the master planned design, homogeneous neighborhood, easy commute to Denver, as well as the peace and serenity.

We probably made over 20 house-hunting trips before buying. It is hard to go wrong with the views and weather anywhere in the foothills. Evergreen mountain homes are always going to be appealing for its mountain setting, proximity to Denver and developing amenities. Good luck home searching.
