I am thinking about moving here but I have asthma, I was wondering what the ragweed and air pollution is like there since that triggers my asthma.

you don't need to move anywhere becauase you have Asthma. My kids have asthma, this is what I did for them.

I give them honey and cinnamon power every day. One teaspoon in the morning and night. I just put little cinnamon on top of the honey. Don't buy the cheap process honey. Buy the organic honey from Whole foods. Ask them you want the pure honey not processed.

So for this year, they didn't get asthma. I didn't use any inhalers such as Albuterol or any steroids.

my kids love honey, it takes two seconds to give and I am done. They are happy. Last year, I went to the doctor so many times, I wasted more money on the co-pay then buying this honey.

^^ Even better, buy LOCAL honey. That way you are getting local pollen. It is said that a resistance can be built up this way if someone suffers from allergies.

Hasn't worked for me at all, but many seem to have found relief

My father kept bees when I was young. He was a farmer's son and continued this tradition when he moved to the outskits of our town. So he kept bees from before I was born until I was maybe 16. Our homegrown organic honey neither stopped me from getting asthma when I was about 3 nor did it help getting rid of it. Maybe honey has a placebo effect though.

My son has asthma and I didn't know honey with cinnamon does help to reduce the risk. He gets more attacks in the warm and humid days or playing too hard. Local RAW honey is hard to find, know any in Iowa?

Visit any farmers market.

We had some at a friends last week and it was excellent. I don't remember the name, but they're bringing us some next Saturday (If they can get it) and I'll post what it is.

Here's a good place to start: Iowa Honey Producers Association 1912-2012
