Can anybody tell me about the area around Hickman Rd and NW 156st? I've been looking on Google Maps and it seems nice and close to some stores.

It's a nice area and part of the city of Waukee, and close to many other stores to the east on Hickman in Clive. Valley West and Jordon Creek malls are only a few miles away in West Des Moines. The area is an upscale suburb with exellent schools and has alot going for it, but it falls in the Xenia water district. Xenia got into some trouble and had to double their rates, but since it's a higher income area to begin with, it wouldn't be too much cause for concern for many that would want to move there.

I get out that way quite often in the summer, via the bike trail. 156th is where the Clive Greenbelt Trail ends a few blocks south of Hickman (and starts in water works park in DSM some 12 miles SE of there). 156th also roughly marks the beginning of the Raccoon River Trail that starts along Hickman (Hy 6) and goes NW about 50 miles or so.
