The tax information should have the stuff you're looking for. Why do you need this? Complaining about a vacant house or something?

I believe if it is Detroit it can be found at the City County Building. I think there was a listing available to the public on line at one time? Maybe a realtor can help?

If it's Macomb County, you can go here: http://gis.macombcountymi.gov/legal/legal_search.asp

I was just going to suggest that. However, some communities (Ray Township, Mt. Clemens, New Haven, Lenox Township, etc.) don't participate in that, so the tax information is not available through that site.

Unfortunately, its Wayne county, which you're lucky if they even answer the phone!

I was wondering if there's something other than the obvious, like tax records. Perhaps some historical records, etc.

Depending on what year(s) some historical societies have PLOT maps listing the owner of property for specific years. I have a copy of the 1904 plot map listing owners by plot for several downriver communities. I purchased mine at the Lincoln PArk Historical Society there on Southfield near Dix.
