Detroit needs a subway system like they have in New York or an EL train system like they have in Chicago

They could start by having an subway/EL line going from Metro Airport to the people mover.

I was thinking the big 3 auto companies could pay for it.
besides they could make the subway/EL train cars and split the profits 3 ways
Its a win-win situation for everybody

The Big 3 is the reason Detroit DOES NOT have mass transit. Remember the trolley cars that ran along Michigan and up Woodward?

Good idea, let's create more dark, unsupervised areas in Detroit. The residents would like that.

Detroit needs habitable areas of inner city like Chicago and New York. That doesn't come from subways and L-trains. It comes from not having neighbors who are stealing your $h!t and killing your family members.

The "Never and Always" argument. Like as if there can't be varying degrees of crime.

Detroit shouldn't go subterranean with mass-transit.
