Not that attached to it. But it would be nice. Prefer a small lake.

I know some of the homes are a lot more but in Orchard Lake/West Bloomfield there is beutiful homes on the lake. You go down a winding road and it is filled with trees and lake views with boating. If you don't need a lake view there are subdivisions in walking distance that are more affordable.
Did you say where you are moving from? What are other things that are important to you? Do you like a new modern home or an older style would be ok? Would you like to be able to walk to places such as living near Birmingham and being able to walk down town? What about schools?

I just wanna point out:

Statistically Bloomfield Hills seems like a wealthier place, however, the western neighborhoods of Birmingham are wealthier than in Bloomfield Hills. The majority of Birmingham is just upper middle class. There's some income disparity going on mostly because western Birmingham has much larger houses and less urban land usage.
