Hello,

I have a question, can anyone tell me of any good driving schools/road test examiners in the Macomb County area? I have been hearing horror stories and I would like to know if you guys have had any experience in the past with a taking a road test in the area, what places do you recommend?

Thank you so much, in advance.

I did mine here at the one on 23 Mile in Chesterfield. Was a breeze - and there's a Secretary of State right at 23/Gratiot. Lots of locations throughout Macomb county to choose from.

You could try taking it through Courtesy Driving School. They usually hold the classes and road tests at the local high schools or areas. I know they host a road test at the Christ The King Lutheran Church in Chesterfield they also have a couple in Sterling Heights.

I actually took my test with them. The first teacher seemed like he was scared to let the kids drive on the freeway. Every time I went over 55 on the Van Dyke expressway he told me to slow down. Being a two lane freeway, we caused a bit of a traffic delay. Another guy was a little less strict and actually told me to floor it because it was a cheapo Ford compact than barely had over 100 horse power. That was actually pretty fun.

The test I took was pretty easy. Just a drive around Sterling Heights/Utica and I passed. I think I messed up the parallel parking, but I guess it was close enough. Overall it was alright, but the first guy did chew out the kids pretty harshly when they screwed up. Luckily I was a pretty fast learner. Don't know how different it'd be for adults.
