Is the area of nine mile and van dyke in Warren safe?

I wonder if there's any impetus to consolidate the school districts of Warren, Michigan? It's served by multiple smaller school districts, with most having one high school each. (Warren Consolidated has multiple)

The two southernmost Warren high schools are Lincoln High and Fitzgerald High, and the part of Warren in East Detroit district is served by East Detroit High.

School districts in Southeast Michigan are so broken to me. My school district had 8 high schools in it, they were in 5 different cities and attended by people from 13 cities. It made sense. It was the district, it had many schools. My entire county of 350,000 people attended the same school district (unless they went to a private or charter school).

Here it's like, "Oh, right, we have 6 school districts that cover the 135,000 people in Warren, because why the hell not? Consolidation is for losers and would require us to cut administrative staff by 70%. Then we'd have to hire more teachers and put more money toward the schools themselves, and nobody wants that. But we called one the "consolidated" district anyway, because we used to have 7."

There is a balance between districts that are too small like some of the smaller districts that pre-date from a different era and/or larger school-aged population. On the other side, there are school districts that can be too big, like what DPS used to be or if school districts were organized at the county-level in Metro Detroit.

Small districts have too much fixed costs and overhead based on their side and don't have the student enrollment size to offer the breadth of academic and extracurricular programs that larger districts can offer.

Large districts have the opposite problem and tend to have too many layers of administrators and bureaucracy like you see it large cities or ISDs in other parts of the country.

I'm surprised though that Van Dyke Schools still even exist.
