DETROIT – Scuffles erupted as several thousand Detroit residents jockeyed, pushed and shoved Wednesday to get free money being offered to only 3,500 of the city's recently or soon to be homeless.

Several received medical treatment for fainting or exhaustion while frantically trying to obtain the applications for federal housing assistance.

You think that's bad?

You should have seen the BAE job fair in the Troy Marriot when they announced they were going to be hiring for engineering positions! Several thousand out of work automotive engineers, all in their interview-best, fighting over a couple hundred parking spaces, competing for a handful (maybe a couple dozen) possible engineering positions.

All joking aside though... the desperation is becoming palpable, and I'm not even living in the area anymore. Just hearing it through friends, family, and former co-workers... people are on the edge of doing anything to keep their lives together. Scary times, and virtually no hope in sight yet, no matter what the media and government try to say.

This is Nobama's/Taxocrats America. Just what they want - people in line fully depending on government. Disturbing trend forming.

Sure - Get their fingers out of running and stay the h_ll out of the way of big corporations- kinda late; the UAW and Noblahblah already will run two major corps into the ground soon, stop appointing czars - throw all these da_m czars out on their a$$es, stop demanding CEO salary limits thus creating animosity between the ranks (every kid dreams of being a wealthy CEO some day- don't make that a sin also), leave doctors salaries alone, remove TARP, cancel cap and trade (tax) talks, stop worrying about global warming (it's a hoax), forget about this ridiculous government controlled health care reform, stop apologizing for America's greatness, leave our nukes alone, shrink the overall size of government, drill oil here (that alone will create thousands of jobs), allow people to- in once free America- drive the car or truck they want and not be made to feel guilty by Washington, build nuclear power plants, lock down the borders and lower taxes at the corporate/business/personal levels for starters. Lets just see how things improve from there. All these negatives were slowly sneaking into place over the last few years of taxocrat held senate, but the pace has accelerated horribly in nine short months since you know who is breaking the back of America and everything we stand for. My bet is when companies can stop worrying about the feds over seeing every darn aspect of their business and stop being punished by the mainstream media for being successful, we'll see job growth again. Less government + lower taxes = positive growth. Unfortunately, we have to wait three more years before the DC dictator and his thugs can be voted out. Countries with big government amount to nothing. States with big government amount to failure and all you get is people begging in long lines for hand outs - look at Michigan for proof. Millions of people at numerous Tea parties and protests across the nation recently, should tell you something. This has never happened before to any previous President. Don't forget, Washington and the liberal media made it sound like these peaceful rallies were attended and organized by radical anti-Noblahblah people (some outlets refered to them as Nazi's). Nothing could be further from the truth. These were/are Americans expressing their rights/concerns, trying to get the message out to the dictator in DC. Painful road ahead for all.

Tax imports. Tax the hell out of them instead of running American businesses into the ground with taxes.
