Will you or anyone you know be attending the fabulous WINTER BLAST?

If NOT, what will prevent you from going?

We would not be attending even if we were in the area.

How about YOU?

We'll be there, and I am really looking forward to it. Someone is trying to do something good for the city of Detroit, boost morale, and bring people into town during a normally blah time of the year. What's not to love about that? The only thing that could keep us away is if the temps are in the single digits. That's just plain inhumanly cold!

If I don't do my part to help lift Detroit from its current condition, then I have no right to sit around and complain to anyone who will listen about how bad it is.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you say that you wouldn't attend even if you were in the area?

Here is the link to their website:

:: Detroit's Winter Blast :: (http://www.winterblast.com/event/2007/index.html - broken link)

It is basically a weekend-long winter carnival in downtown Detroit that originally started the year that Detroit hosted the Super Bowl. We have never been, and I am really looking forward to it!

Okay. I have heard of this but just didn't recognize the name of it. We have never been but it looks kind of fun. Maybe we'll check it out.

Lived there way too long to believe anymore.

After 40+ years we were tired of hearing--It will be better soon....

I can see where you're coming from. We watch the Detroit news every night and sometimes, based on what I see on there, which I'm sure is only the tip of the iceberg, it seems like a completely lost cause. I have never lived in Detroit proper, so I can't see things from the inside like you can. I guess I just look at it like I have to do my little, tiny part to try to support it, since it is the biggest city here in Michigan by far and reflects on all of us. But perhaps if I had lived there for forty years myself, I would see things differently.

But you know, all that aside, I just think that Winter Fest looks like a whole lot of fun, especially since it is scheduled to take place during the peak of the February blahs. I really am looking forward to checking it out this year.

We went before and will go again this year. I is fun. Downtown Detroit is fine. this poll is a bit slanted. Four argumentative negative options and one bland I will go option? What is up with that?

How about an I am looking forward to it option? Or It was really fun and I cannot wait to go again?
