Dr not making you check your sugars??? My husbands doctor said check it once a day 3 times a week. He was type 2 but not that severe. I can tell you this, if you drop weight you will see your numbers go down and maybe you can get off the diabetic meds. Not sure if that's true for everyone but it worked for my husband. It will be 1 year in july that he's off meds and he was diagnosed in 2008.

Yeah but the OP was diagnosed as being diabetic, not pre-diabetic. Big difference in treatment.
