Had a coworker whose son was married to a great woman. They had two kids and when number three was on the way, second was having issues with it. So, they bought a realistic baby doll and acted like this baby doll was the baby to help son deal with the new one coming up. They'd strap "baby" in the car and have brother help, and have brother help put "baby" in the stroller... that sort of thing.
And they had a wretched neighbor. Wretched neighbor watched them like a hawk. Neighbor was told about baby doll..... and one day, mom was tired, family was tired .... and baby doll was left in car. In the car seat.
Wretched neighbor called CPS. Woman did it on purpose. Honestly, if you thought your neighbors left their actual child in the car, you'd call the flipping cops -- NOT CPS.
They were under scrutiny for several months over that.
