This seems weird, but I've found red splotches on the front of my legs near the ankle. The redness is about half the size of a cell phone and appears to have some blistering. It also has periods where it becomes dry skin. Does not extend to the feet, just on front of leg. Not painful, just curious. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds like psoriasis to me. I developed it a few years ago. There is not suppose to be any connection with diabetes, but sometimes I wonder.

One oddity about psoriasis (which is not really understood): it tends to occur in 'pairs': for instance, if the red spot is on both legs, in the same general area of each leg, it is probably psoriasis. I recently had a new outbreak that affected the outside of each leg, just above the ankle, in the exact same spot.

When I went to a skin doctor and was diagnosed with psoriasis, he prescribed a medicated ointment: expensive, and did not really work (at least, long term). Finally, I found this stuff, MG 217:

MG217 Medicated Tar Ointment,

You can find MG 217 at any drug store. Works great! I let my medicated cream prescription lapse. If you develop psoriasis on your scalp, you may want to have the medicated spray prescribed.

Hope this helps.

Well the spot started after I started taking medicine a couple years ago.
