I have to get scaling and root planing on a few teeth next week. I just looked at my dental coverage and discovered that it covers the scaling and root planing, as well as periodontal maintenance four times a year, in full (well, I pay and then they reimburse me a few weeks later) since I am diabetic.
Do any of you do the periodontal maintenance four times a year? It sounds like a great benefit, but I am not familiar with the treatment so was curious to see if it is something other diabetics typically do.
