I work in an office environment and, as a group, we order out for lunch most days. Setting aside that preparing my own lunch would be the better choice, what are some of the options (other than salad) you may choose for lunch?
I'm in an urban setting so restaurant options are plentiful.
-Middle Eastern. Falafel, kebabs, Mediterranean salads. Just skip the breads and rice.
-Asian. Get a stir-fry that's not too saucy and skip the rice, egg rolls and dumplings.
-Burgers and sandwiches. Eat half the bread. Substitute veggies or fruit for the fries.
-Mexican. Eat the fajita filling and skip the tortillas. Or get a naked burrito.
Most places post the nutritional content online. Get one of the lower carb offerings. Don't forget to check salad dressings.
Just wanted to add that a lot of sandwich, burrito and taco places offer bowls now, where you can get your proteins and veggies in a bowl without the high-carb wrap. I just had one of these at a sub place and enjoyed it.

I've started ordering more of these (sans rice) as well. It's one of the better alternatives.
A nutritionist I am seeing said I should limit my carb intake to 45/meal. IMO, that number seems a bit high.
