Ulcers are pretty much gone. Blood sugars are going down. His BS was 310 the night we saw the urgent care doctor today it was 214. He's really eating better, finally!!!
Normal blood sugars will significantly help the healing process. 214 is still really high. If he is healing, then great but in general that is a high number.
Protein is mainly used for bodily growth and repair.
When you have elevated glucose-levels, protein and glucose combine.....it is called
protein-glycation and it is very bad. Protein-glycation has been shown to interfere with
proper healing of wounds.
Is he not taking any kind of medication, like metformin? He needs help getting that morning sugar down quite a bit more, 188 is very high.
He is taking metformin 1,000 mg 2 times a day, and glimepiride he also had a very bad infection not that long ago which is finally gone plus he had taken a so called "vacation from his diabetes the last 3 months. He's back on track going on 2 weeks now and considering his sugar was 310 4 weeks ago I think 188 is pretty good. His morning Sugars haven't been in the low 90's to 120 in a few years.

It is certainly an improvement, but it still must go much lower, but I'm sure you already know that. I don't mean to nag.
310 versus 188 compares to a head-on collision at 100 mph versus a head-on collision at 80 mph, not as bad but still quite deadly.
My brother had his feet amputated because his sugars were too high, and I hate to see that happen to anyone, is why I'm concerned. Here's to continued improvement.
