Thank you...it's all about be positive. I'm not saying it's easy...but staying positive & having a wonderful husband & wonderful dogs...make my life almost perfect.
We can't hike anymore...which we loved to do with the dogs, so now we have to be happy with throwing tennis balls & brushing the dogs.
Got my blood work done earlier this week and my (now) doctor called me this afternoon to tell me "everything looks fine and I don't think I will change a thing (2 meds I'm taking) when I see you next week." Boy was I glad to hear that! Just how long will I be on these meds, don't know, but DO KNOW they are working for my cholestrol and glucose readings!! I will continue to take the meds until dear ol' doc tells me different. I'm 60 now and want to keep living and hopefully get better and better. Wife and I are extremely happy with what we were told!! We have changed our diets/watch what we eat, take my meds, get exercise (boat/fishing, etc.) and see the doctor.

One other thing that is important in controling blood glucose levels is controling stress. The stress or sometimes called by medical profession "the fight or flight reflex" is a mechanism that is part of our physiology. The adrenal gland triggers the liver to put extra sugar in the blood stream to power the body and its survival mechanism. Other things include higher blood pressure to cycle the blood faster and rapid respiration to boost blood oxygen to use all that sugar.
