Has anyone joined this website? I was wondering how much it was, and if it is ALL that.........!!! Saw it on Oprah yesterday. Looks like many people have had success with it and it looks like a longterm thing. She aired people on the show that have lost over 100lbs but I had to wonder where all the excess skin was that these people should have had. I know some people don't get a whole lot of extra skin, but it didn't appear any of them were worse for the wear.

This plan sounds like something I could possibly live with.

I dont know anything about it...excess skin...exercise or it has to be removed. I don't care what anyone says...if you say, have lap band, or lose alot of weight with out exercising during that time, you will have that skin.

Every pt that has come in to the office who has had that surgery has that skin, my cousin also... thats why the bariatric drs are firm on exercise programs.

The reason for all the excess hanging skin is from losing weight too fast. If one loses it slower, and exercises as they are losing it,which you have to do with or without the surgery anyway, they will not have such a problem with the loose skin.
The surgery to lop off all of that excess skin is not simple stuff. I accidentally tuned into the medical channel one day and was watching it before i realized what it was. It made me nauseous. The lady that was having the skin removal surgery was in such pain! Poor thing.

Ok.......so what does everyone think about Bob Greene's Best Life Diet, or hasn't anyone tried it? I have the book on reserve at the library, and I am thinking of joining his website!

I would read the book first.
I signed up on the site a few years back when it was "free".
They've since done away with that site.
It was a BB of "support"....no real solid advice.
I'm not sure what this new site is all about...but I imagine
it would be similar except now they charge a fee.

While you are at the library, check out "You On A Diet" by Michael Roizen, MD and Mehmet Oz, MD.

If you're an Oprah fan you will notice the name Dr.Oz....he's the sexy doctor that has been a guest quite often on her show.
They have both made appearances on PBS, Discovery Health and a slew of others.

The book they have out is loaded with really good information and easy to follow and understand.
In other words, not a lot of medical jargon.

Here's a link to reviews on the book and other info...
Amazon.com: You: On A Diet: The Owner's Manual for Waist Management: Books: Mehmet C. Oz,Michael F. Roizen

On Oprah's site you can find more info and links.

My take is its a low caloric diet. I know most the research that shows Extreme longevity is on a low caloric/calorie restriction diet as certain Genes express for longevity but for me personally i'd starve on that diet as would any athlete ........however for those into low calories or calorie restriction then it should suit you fine.
