And you know how nonfilling those things are when you consume empty calories your belly doesn't feel full so they will just keep eating them.

You know that guy who did the experiment went to bed hungry with his belly aching a lot of nights cause he was truly hungry. If you don't get the nutrients your body needs it will keep telling you its hungry regardless of how many calories you have consumed. When I made the mistake years ago of living off vending machine foods being stuck at work doing 12 hr shifts I learned that about my own body.

This guy will cause countless people to gain even more weight trying out his diet. Children will also not understand it so its a bad message to come out when adults are trying to teach school children how to eat right. If you saw some of these young schoolchildren in my town that already weigh 250-300 and aren't even in high school yet you would understand why eating snack cakes should not be encouraged.

The overall effect of this "news" story will be negative. I bet the snack cake companies are loving it though

Yeah, but he was supersizing everything and taking in 5000-6000 calories per day. He also went from a mostly vegetarian diet (I believe, since his wife was vegetarian). His body was overloaded trying to convert excess calories into fat stores/muscle stores/glycogen stores. There was another man who took in 1200 calories/day eating only McD's and saw the opposite effects of Spurlock. There have been many of these diets out there with similar effects that according to medical science shouldn't be happening (lower cholesterol, no fatty liver, etc.). Strange, yes, but the point is, this is mind boggling and we really DON'T KNOW what is going on anymore which is one of the points of the article.

Obviously, carbs don't matter according to his carb-laden diet...
