My girlfriend had a back fusion back in 2003. Doctor said it was from a sport injury when she was in school. They fused L4 and 5. The surgery went GREAT (thank you Dr. Arkins and Staff). She began working out with a personal trainer and lost ALOT of weight. In 2007 she fell on some ice and the doctors stated that she needed another surgery in 2010 but she had put on all the weight because all they did was give her pills for the pain. None worked. Now she has put on a alot of weight to the point that she can not walk long distances without having to rest and her back is always in pain. They state that she needs the surgery BUT they will not do it til the weight is off. Any ideas of diets etc that can help her. Again she can not walk more then 8 feet without getting tired and her back hurting.
