that's interesting. I have seen scales that weigh the food, but I wonder how it determines the calories?

I have one of these scales, and it is great.

Mine is a Nutrition Pro Kitchen Scale made by Eat Smart.

It has 999 typical foods stored in it's memory, and the nutrition breakdown for all of them.

You just enter a 3 digit food code (found in an accompanying alphabetized food guide) and after the food is weighed, the scale tells you it's nutrition breakdown.

I really like it, and would recommend it to anyone.

It can display weight in either grams or ounces.

I got mine used for $15, but new they are around $70.

Well....I never. What won't they think of next? :roll eyes:

To me, buying something like that would be akin to purchasing a "pre-lit" Christmas tree.

It is certainly a useful tool when you are concerned about proper nutrition and counting calories.

It saves you the trouble of having to find the calories/nutrition counts in a book, and next weigh your food, and next use a calculator to compute the calorie/nutrition totals based on your food's weight.

It does everything for you, and it is located right on your kitchen counter whenever you need it.

I think it is great !!!
