OK, so I know that's impossible, but that's what my scale says. I half think my scale is broken.
I know weight is supposed to vary from day to day but this just seems a bit extreme. Has anyone else experienced this and is there an explanation?
I had been stuck at the same weight for about 2 weeks (yes, I'm one of those dorks that ways themselves every day). The last couple of days I chugged water pretty hard, about a gallon both days. So my best explanation is that I have really been losing for the past 2 weeks but was retaining water so it wasn't showing up on the scale (probably too much salt).
It is said our weight changes about 2 pounds every day. So that with the change of water may have made you lose the weight. I lost 5 pounds in a day but that day i had walked 10 miles. i also ate a lot of bad food that day(pizza, chips, soda, chicken sandwhich) so anything is possible.
I recommend that each day, you always weigh yourself first thing in the morning, after you've gone to the bathroom, and before you eat breakfast.
That way, you are making similar weight comparisons from one day to the next.
First thing in the morning, after going to the bathroom, is when you should weigh the least, since you've digested the previous days food, and you haven't eaten any new food yet.
Any undigested food or beverage in your stomach can add a few pounds to your weight.
I would weight yourself once a week. Its a more accurate way of gaging how much weight you are losing. Your weight will fluctuate from day to day and it can be maddening when the scale is not going in the direction you want it to. Plus with weekly weigh ins you have a weekly goal to shoot for, as opposed to day to day concerns.
It is possible for the 5 pounds to show on the scale in one day especially if you don't weigh daily but weekly. I weigh myself every Sunday morning after my morning pp ritual but right before I get into the shower since I am undressed already so it is roughly the same time every week when I get on the scale.
According to my scale i gained 10 lbs in 2 days. Its depressing.
Did you change any medications recently? It is virtually impossible to gain 10lbs real pounds overnight unless you ate an extra 35000 calories (I doubt you did that).
