Does anyone have experience with vitamin B6 for weight loss?

The effects I have noticed after one week on a restricted diet with a B6 injection are increased energy, lack of hunger, and lack of water retention. Not sure whether this is B6 working or the diet itself.

Its the diet. If you are deficient in B6 you will benefit from the injection, otherwise it wont do a thing for you and is a HUGE waste of money.

Well, it's $5.00 per shot. But thanks all the same.

Let me put it this way, if B6 shots actually helped people lose weight we would not have an obesity epidemic. Shots don't work. Proper diet and a solid exercise routine does.

Well hey, if that's your attitude about it - I'm selling a very special, magic envelope of air. It will cure your obesity, and it will keep the elephants out of your attic. Just send me $5 per week, and follow the diet and exercise regime I include FREE with the first envelope.

I have no experience with B6 shots, but I think it stands to reason that if you are on a super low cal, low salt diet - you are going to lose weight pretty quickly unless you are already skin and bones...whether you get a B6 shot or not.

i dont know about b6 vitamins helpin in weight loss but i know that taking super B complex, which has many of the B vitamins , including b6 is supposed to help aid in energy/metabolism.

its says it on the bottle but of course, on every vitamin bottle it says these statements have not been approved by the fda. but on the other hand the food administration approves gmo's and other nasty stuff in the foods we consume.

No one is claiming B6 shots do the trick alone or even have anything to do with weight loss directly. I'm being told it's just an aid to reduce the hunger and irritability that normally accompany a low-calorie, low-carb, low-sugar diet for someone whose body isn't used to that. It helps one stay the course.

As for the whole concept of vitamin deficiency, I suspect that the efficacy of vitamins is not binary, but analog. In other words it may not be a matter of deficient/sufficient, but more like a spectrum of depletion <----------------> saturation, with a range of efficacy and most people falling somewhere in the middle.

The diuretic effect of the diet can deplete B6, thus the shot. You won't continue on that diet indefinitely and you probably won't need to continue with those shots once you've branched out a little diet wise.
